Bears Vs Ice Dogs Game Huge Hit With Mighty Roos Kids Club

Mighty Roos national players Murray Wand, Vlad Rubes, Tyler Lovering and Brett Nelson-Bond meet several Kids Club members

At a full house, the Bears/Ice Dogs “Mighty Roos Kids Club” game proved to be a huge success. National team players, from the West Sydney Ice Dogs and Sydney Bears, showed their class on the ice with one of the best games of the year. “The cross-town rivalry delivered everything promised and more”, said IHA Marketing Director, Rick Williams.

“Tonight was a special event for our Mighty Roos Kids Club members and we have to thank Anthony Wilson and Barry Robertson for helping, he said. The evening got off to a momentous start with legendary Blacktown celebrity “John Wilson” dropping the puck to start the game. “Over the past 15 years, out of their own pockets, the Wilson’s have donated skates, hockey gear and have admitted “free” hundreds of kids into Blacktown Arena” said Williams. “It was appropriate that someone who has given so much, to the kids in the West, be the one to officially get this special event under way”. The evening not only featured a great hockey game but gave fans the opportunity to buy the latest Mighty Roos gear, which can be seen on www.mightyroos.com.

In the end, although the Ice Dogs were on the right end of the score board, the big winners were the Mighty Roos Kids Club members who enjoyed the greatest show on ice. Many thanks to the Blacktown Arena, their staff and volunteers, the teams and Ken and Elaine (from Mighty Roos merchandising). The next Mighty Roos Kids Club Open Practise, which is scheduled in Adelaide, will be announced shortly.
