IHA Referees Prepare for AIHL 2006 Season

The IHA Referees commenced preparations for the AIHL's 2006 season through their attendance at the IHA's 2006 AIHL Referees Seminar. IHA Referee-in-Chief, Allan Wishewan put together a comprehensive agenda complete with guest speakers from the Australian Rugby League and New South Wales Sports Commission.

The seminar was designed to review the various rule changes for the upcoming season and establish consistency in rule application. The referees were also put through an exhaustive on-ice skills skating testing program and team building exercise.

The League is shaping up to be played at an even higher level than in previous years. A large contingent of 2005 imports are returning and the majority of teams have employed overseas coaches. The first game is scheduled for Sunday the 08th April 2006 when the Central Coast Rhinos host the visiting Canberra Knights.
