Ice Hockey Australia is calling for nominations for the National Men’s Team to represent Australia at the IIHF World Championship Division IIB in Puigcerda, Spain from 17th to 23rd March 2024.
We are looking for players who have continued to develop high-performance skills, gameplay, fitness and attitude and who believe that they are ready to perform at this international level of competition.
All eligible players with the ability, drive, and commitment to represent Australia at the highest level are encouraged to apply.
Tournament Details:
- – 8th March 2024: Depart for Italy
- – 8th – 14th March: Training Camp
- – 17th – 23rd March: Tournament
- – 24th March: Depart for Australia
- – 26th March: Arrive in Australia
Essential IHA Selection Criteria:
- – Must be a registered member of IHA and/or comply with the Eligibility Requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation (details here)
- – Must have a valid Australian passport ( in process is valid as long as the passport is obtained three (3) months prior to Departure date).
- – Must be no younger than fifteen (15) and no older than eighteen (18) by 31st December 2024*.
*No under-age waiver is permitted as per IIHF Official Rule Book.
Commitment:
-Selected players must commit to all pre-departure fitness, skill and conditioning programs as set by the coaching and performance staff
-All players must be fully compliant with requested reporting, paperwork, team meetings and any other off-ice performance requirements as requested or set by the Coach, Medical Staff, Team Manager or IHA.
Costs:
-Tournament costs are to be determined.
Selection:
Selection of this team will be via the below link, and be assessed by a panel consisting of, but not limited to, the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and an additional IHA High Performance accredited coach.
