Coaching & Accreditation

IHA has partnered with the IIHF and Australian Sports Commission (ASC) to develop an instructional framework for coaches of Ice Hockey in Australia:

The IHA National Coaching Accreditation & Compliance Scheme (NCACS)

NCACS participants progress through four levels. Each level offers a structured learning syllabus to build a coach’s knowledge and expertise as they go.

The framework includes essential compliance information, ensuring that coaches are fully aware of and able to meet all applicable obligations and responsibilities with regard to IHA and ASC accreditation.

All NCACS participants are required to be conversant with the IHA Coaching Code of Behaviour & Ethics (‘Code’), and to adhere to the Code at all times.

Please note that from time to time it may be necessary to revise NCACS content in accordance with changing Member Association or IHA requirements.

Coaching directors and coaches are requested to periodically refer to linked resources and check that their information is up to date. IHA has developed a National Player Development Framework and an associated Skills Development Manual to assist coaches.
