Ice Hockey Australia is calling for nominations for the National Women’s Senior Team to represent Australia at the IIHF Women’s Senior World Championship Division IIB in Istanbul, Turkey from 1st to 7th April 2024.
We are looking for players who have continued to develop high-performance skills, gameplay, fitness and attitude and who believe that they are ready to perform at this international level of competition.
All eligible players with the ability, drive, and commitment to represent Australia at the highest level are encouraged to apply.
Tournament Details:
- -24th March 2024: Depart for Italy
- -24th – 30th March 2024: Training Camp
- -1st – 7th April 2024: Tournament
- -8th April 2024: Depart for Australia
- -10th April 2024: Arrive in Australia
Essential IHA Selection Criteria:
- – Must be a registered member of IHA and/or comply with the Eligibility Requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation (details here)
- – Must have a valid Australian passport ( in process is valid as long as the passport is obtained three (3) months prior to Depart date).
- – Must be at least eighteen* (18) years old by 31st December 2024
*Players who do not meet the minimum age requirements, but who will have their 16th or 17th birthday in 2024, may participate as under-age following IIHF Bylaw 10.6.2.
Commitment:
-Selected players must commit to all pre-departure fitness, skill and conditioning programs as set by the coaching and performance staff
-All players must be fully compliant with requested reporting, paperwork, team meetings and any other off-ice performance requirements as requested or set by the Coach, Medical Staff, Team Manager or IHA.
-Availability to attend a High Performance Development Camp in Melbourne 17th – 19th November 2023 is essential, but not a requirement. Players are encourage to apply if not available or living overseas.

-Tournament costs are to be determined.
Selection:
Selection of this team will be via the below link, and be assessed by a panel consisting of, but not limited to, the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and an additional IHA High Performance accredited coach.
