Ice Hockey Australia is calling for nominations for the World Women U18 team to represent Australia at the IIHF Division I, Group B, World Championships held in Jaca, Spain, 8th – 14th January 2024.
We are looking for players who have continued to develop high-performance skills, gameplay, fitness and attitude, and who believe that they are ready to perform at the international level of competition.
All eligible players with the ability, drive, and commitment to represent Australia at the highest level are encouraged to apply.
Tournament Details:
31st December 2023: Depart Australia
31st – 7th January 2024: Training Camp (TBC)
8th – 14th January 2024: IIHF Division I Group B World Championship
15th January 2024: Depart Barcelona, Spain
16th January 2024: Arrive in Australia
Essential IHA Selection Criteria:
-Must be a registered IHA Member (or willingness to obtain)
-Must have a valid Australian passport with 6 months validity at time of tournament
Commitment:
-Selected players must commit to all pre-departure fitness, skill and conditioning programs as set by the coaching and performance staff
-All players must be fully compliant with requested reporting, paperwork, team meetings and any other off-ice performance requirements as requested or set by the Coach, Medical Staff, Team Manager or IHA.
Costs:
-Tournament costs are to be determined.
Selection:
Selection of this team will be via the below link, and be assessed by a panel consisting of, but not limited to, the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and an additional IHA High Performance accredited coach.
