Annelie Kvisle Represents Ice Hockey Australia at 2025 Hockey Together Camp in Korea

Published Tue 02 Sep 2025

Ice Hockey Australia is delighted that Annelie Kvisle recently represented the organisation and Australia at the 2025 Hockey Together Camp, held in South Korea and hosted by the Korea Ice Hockey Association (KIHA) with the support of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

The prestigious camp welcomed over 40 coaches from 25 countries across Asia, Oceania, and Europe, creating a unique and collaborative learning environment. With a focus on both personal and professional development, the central themes explored during the camp included:

  • Coach and player development – building tools to support athletes at all stages of their journey.

  • Leadership – developing confident and adaptable coaches who can inspire the next generation.

  • Coach education frameworks – sharing models and structures from around the world.

  • Video analysis – integrating technology into coaching to sharpen player performance.

  • On- and off-ice training plans – developing holistic, athlete-centred programs.

  • Networking and collaboration – strengthening the global coaching community through shared learning.

Backed by an excellent pool of international instructors, the program opened in Seoul with intensive classroom seminars covering coaching education, player safety, and long-term athlete development. Midweek, the camp transitioned to Gangneung—the historic ice hockey venue of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games—where participants applied their learning directly with domestic and international youth players.

The camp’s on-ice activities culminated in a series of competitive games featuring Korean U15 players and the visiting Hong Kong, China Ice Hockey Association U16 team. These matches not only showcased the players’ progress but also carried the spirit of an international friendship exchange program, strengthening ties between nations and demonstrating the role of ice hockey as a platform for sports diplomacy.

Reflecting on her experience, Annelie shared-“Having the opportunity to take part in the 2025 Hockey Together Camp, South Korea, was incredible. It was the perfect balance of classroom education by mentor coaches from a variety of backgrounds and practical hands-on training and game opportunities working with incredibly talented U15 Korean players alongside coaches from all over the world. The expansive network gained from Hockey Together will prove invaluable, as did the opportunity to learn new coaching skills and techniques.”

Annelie’s attendance was made possible through the IIHF Flying Coaches program, a joint initiative between Australia, New Zealand, and the IIHF, designed to provide valuable international experience and development opportunities for coaches in emerging hockey nations.

Initiated by the Korea Ice Hockey Association, the Hockey Together Camp has steadily grown over the past few years into a standout global development event. By combining outstanding mentors, motivated participants, and a balance of theory and practical work, the program has not only enhanced coaching skills on and off the ice but also created a lasting impact across 25 nations represented in the 2025 edition.

Ice Hockey Australia congratulates Annelie on her successful participation and looks forward to seeing her continue to apply her knowledge and experience to inspire players and coaches across the country. Her involvement is a shining example of how international collaboration and shared learning fuel growth, development, and excellence in Australian ice hockey.
