ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING 2021 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Published Fri 07 May 2021

Over the past 4 months, Ice Hockey Australia has had a number of meetings with State Presidents to discuss the ability of conducting our National Championship Program in 2021, and we continue to be hopeful that all championships will be able to occur.

However, as the situation regarding safety and travel, and potential lockdowns is constantly changing due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to assess the risks to our members and our sport.

Following a recent discussion at the IHA General Assembly on 1 May 2021, IHA has decided to postpone all 2021 National Championships and development programs until the situation becomes clearer, with a view of running them towards the end of the year.

The decision regarding these events was made in consultation with our Member Associations and Portfolio Directors and in consideration of the information available from public health officials and government agencies.
