Ice Hockey Australia Unveils Updated Brand Mark, Ushering in a Bold New Era
Published Mon 07 Jul 2025
Ice Hockey Australia is set to unveil a reimagined brand mark this month, marking a bold step forward in redefining the sport’s national identity.
The updated design draws inspiration from Australia’s iconic green and gold colour palette and introduces a forward-facing kangaroo, symbolising the sport’s progressive momentum and aspirations for growth. A major addition to the refreshed mark is the inclusion of the sport’s legacy date, proudly acknowledging over 100 years of ice hockey history in Australia. The design pays homage to the original roundel landmark logo first registered almost 40 years ago; giving it a modern and vibrant overhaul.
Ryan O’Handley, President of Ice Hockey Australia has been involved in the sport holding various official senior roles for over 14 years. O’Handley celebrates this step forward, stating: “We saw an opportunity to bring the brand into the modern era while honouring the legacy of our national sport. With engagement stronger than ever, this new direction gives us an iconic platform to grow the game. The new brand mark isn’t a departure from our roots, it’s an evolution of our heritage.”
Adam Woolnough, General Manager of Ice Hockey Australia, added “We’re incredibly excited to see the brand come to life across all touchpoints, from digital platforms and merchandise to signage and team uniforms. It’s a proud moment for the sport and a visual identity our athletes, clubs, and fans can truly rally behind.”
The new brand identity will begin rolling out nationally in the coming weeks, kicking off with the National Championship tournament being hosted in Perth, WA from Thursday 10th July.
