Ice Hockey Australia welcomes new Board Members

Melbourne, Australia – Post the Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) Annual General Meeting in July 2025, a number of board changes were made. In addition, the last month has seen a transformation of our Board and key leadership roles.

IHA wish to thank and acknowledge the three outgoing Directors that completed their terms as at the Annual General Meeting: Mr. Jay Norden - Director, Commercial & Facilities, Ms. Christine Harman - Director, Governance, People & Culture and Ms. Rachel Kogiopoulos – Director, Finance, Audit & Risk.

As ratified at this AGM, our incoming Directors we congratulated include: Mr. Tim Kitching - President & Company Secretary, and Acting Director Game Development, Ms. Deon Shearer - Director, Commercial Portfolio and Ms. Veronica Ryan - Vice President & Treasurer, Finance, Audit, Risk. To read more about our board members please see our biographies here.

We would also like to share our appreciation of past President, Dr. Ryan O’Handley who resigned from his position in September 2025 after more than 14 years of service across various roles. In addition, Ms. Jane Woodlands-Thompson after stepping down from the Vice President role, has also within the last week resigned from her portfolio, High Performance and National Teams. We thank Jane for her close to four years of service. She has assisted to elevate the profile of our sport on the world stage, introducing many strategies to help grow the high performance function of our teams.

We now have two vacant board positions, and together with the wider review of our financial management and governance processes - will soon share our intended strategy to fill these roles. Our focus is on building the organisation for a sustainable future.
