2026 CALL FOR DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS
At the upcoming Annual General Meeting of Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) Limited, there are four Director positions which are due to retire by rotation, and one Director position that is currently vacant. The 2026 IHA Nominations Committee will be chaired by Michael Juste, and we are also at this stage seeking nominations for the remaining two Nominations Committee positions. Please send through suitable nominations to Michael at Michael.Juste@iha.org.au by Monday 17 August 2026. In the absence of any nominations, IHA will select two external people to join the Nominations Committee.
The five Director positions are as follows:
Director 1 - This position is responsible for the Governance, People & Culture Portfolio, and the holder of the role is also the Company Secretary of IHA and is currently filled by Kathy Rogers. Kathy is retiring by rotation.
Director 2 – This position is responsible for the Finance, Risk & Compliance Portfolio, and the holder of the role is also the Treasurer of IHA and is currently filled by Veronica Ryan. As previously communicated Veronica is now leading the Business Operations Portfolio, and will relinquish her lead of the Treasurer position and the Finance, Risk & Compliance Portfolio once a suitable candidate is sourced,
Director 3, 4 and 5 - These positions are general Director positions. Whilst a background and governance experience in ice hockey (or sport in general) is desirable, where an applicant has specialised skills that can be of benefit to IHA, they will be considered. These positions are currently filled by Karla Quinn, Gregor Rozenberg and Mark McMonagle; all of whom are retiring by rotation.
Overviews of each Portfolios are attached. The term of Directors is 3 years.
The Director Nomination form is attached, which details the experience, skills and competencies required for the position of an IHA Director. IHA additionally requires all candidates to either have ACID accreditation or to complete The Start Line course (The start line – sport governance foundations course | ASC) and to attached their completion certificate when applying. Find also attached the Board Skills Matrix. Please distribute this amongst your members and wider community.
It is worth noting that these IHA roles require an extensive time commitment, and a willingness to contribute in a hands-on manner.
