Ice Hockey Australia Announces New Board Directors
Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) is pleased to announce the election of Jeff Klinck and Jayne Nelson to the Board, together with the appointment of Abs Osseiran as a Director of Ice Hockey Australia.
The three Directors bring additional experience, perspectives and capability to the IHA Board as the organisation continues to strengthen its governance and build a sustainable future for ice hockey in Australia.
The appointments come at an important time for IHA, with the Board focused on supporting the growth and development of the sport, strengthening governance and organisational capability, and working collaboratively with IHA’s Member Associations and the wider Australian ice hockey community.
Jeff Klinck joins the IHA Board following his election as a Director, bringing extensive financial management, commercial and organisational experience. A senior finance professional with experience across the manufacturing and FMCG sectors, Jeffery also brings direct experience in Australian ice hockey administration, having previously served as Assistant Commissioner of the Australian Ice Hockey League.
Jayne Nelson also joins the IHA Board as an elected Director, bringing extensive executive leadership, strategy, governance and organisational transformation experience. Jayne is Chief Executive Officer of IPC Health and an experienced non-executive director. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she also has a strong connection to ice hockey through her volunteer involvement with Ice Hockey Victoria.
Abs Osseiran has been appointed as a Director of IHA, bringing extensive commercial, strategic and governance experience. Abs is Office Managing Partner of Deloitte Western Sydney and an experienced non-executive director, currently serving as a Non-Executive Director and Audit & Risk Committee Chair of Sydney Festival. His professional and governance experience, combined with his personal involvement in ice hockey, brings a strong commercial perspective and genuine passion for the continued growth of the sport in Australia.
The new Directors will work alongside the existing IHA Board and IHA’s Member Associations to help guide the organisation and support the continued development of ice hockey at all levels across Australia.
They join Tim Kitching, who continues as President, Deon Shearer, who has been newly elected as Vice President, and continuing Directors Veronica Ryan and Michael Juste.
IHA also sincerely thanks outgoing Directors Karla Quinn, Kathy Rogers, Mark McMonagle and Gregor Rozenberg for their service, commitment and contribution to the Board and to ice hockey in Australia.
The appointments reinforce IHA’s commitment to strong governance, collaboration and ensuring the organisation is well positioned to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport.
Ice Hockey Australia is the national governing body for ice hockey in Australia and is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
